How to live a real Rich Life !

Written by a 90 year old.

This is something we should all read at least once a week!!!!! Make sure you read to the end !!!!!! Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio.

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win Every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first Paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16.. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one Else

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of Anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come...

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.
"No", she replied. "He's out."
"Then we cannot come in", they replied.
In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.
"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"
The woman went out and invited the men in"
"We do not go into a House together," they replied.
"Why is that?" she asked.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"
His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"

Their daughter-in- law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"

"Let us heed our daughter-in- law's advice," said the husband to his wife.
"Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"

The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him.

So here ends this wonderful story. And now its time to know that sure shot formula. Here is the secret to become real rich, super wealthy and enjoy the life.

Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success !!!!! !"

98 Years Young Doctor...Secrets of Long life

At the age of 97 years and 4 months, Shigeaki Hinohara is one of the world's longest-serving physicians and educators.

Hinohara's magic touch is legendary: Since 1941 he has been healing patients at St. Luke's International Hospital in Tokyo and teaching at St. Luke's College of Nursing. After World War II, he envisioned a world-class hospital and college springing from the ruins of Tokyo; thanks to his pioneering spirit and business savvy, the doctor turned these institutions into the nation's top medical facility and nursing school.

Today he serves as chairman of the board of trustees at both organizations. Always willing to try new things, he has published around 150 books since his 75th birthday, including one "Living Long, Living Good" that has sold more than 1.2 million copies. As the founder of the New Elderly Movement, Hinohara encourages others to live a long and happy life, a quest in which no role model is better than the doctor himself.

He shows us what is the meaning of life and how to achieve it. Lets read his thoughts and extract the essence of life....

Secrets of Long Life

* Energy comes from feeling good, not from eating well or sleeping a lot. We all remember how as children, when we were having fun, we often forgot to eat or sleep. I believe that we can keep that attitude as adults, too. It's best not to tire the body with too many rules such as lunchtime and bedtime.

* All people who live long regardless of nationality, race or gender share one thing in common: None are overweight.. . For breakfast I drink coffee, a glass of milk and some orange juice with a tablespoon of olive oil in it. Olive oil is great for the arteries and keeps my skin healthy. Lunch is milk and a few cookies, or nothing when I am too busy to eat. I never get hungry because I focus on my work.. Dinner is veggies, a bit of fish and rice, and, twice a week, 100 grams of lean meat..

* Always plan ahead. My schedule book is already full until 2014, with lectures and my usual hospital work. In 2016 I'll have some fun, though: I plan to attend the Tokyo Olympics!

* There is no need to ever retire, but if one must, it should be a lot later than 65. The current retirement age was set at 65 half a century ago, when the average life-expectancy in Japan was 68 years and only 125 Japanese were over 100 years old. Today, Japanese women live to be
around 86 and men 80, and we have 36,000 centenarians in our country. In 20 years we will have about 50,000 people over the age of 100...

* Share what you know. I give 150 lectures a year, some for 100 elementary-school children, others for 4,500 business people. I usually speak for 60 to 90 minutes, standing, to stay strong.

* When a doctor recommends you take a test or have some surgery, ask whether the doctor would suggest that his or her spouse or children go through such a procedure. Contrary to popular belief, doctors can't cure everyone. So why cause unnecessary pain with surgery I think
music and animal therapy can help more than most doctors imagine.

* To stay healthy, always take the stairs and carry your own stuff. I take two stairs at a time, to get my muscles moving.

* My inspiration is Robert Browning's poem "Abt Vogler." My father used to read it to me. It encourages us to make big art, not small scribbles. It says to try to draw a circle so huge that there is no way we can finish it while we are alive. All we see is an arch; the rest is beyond our vision but it is there in the distance.

* Pain is mysterious, and having fun is the best way to forget it. If a child has a toothache, and you start playing a game together, he or she immediately forgets the pain. Hospitals must cater to the basic need of patients: We all want to have fun. At St. Luke's we have music and animal therapies, and art classes.

* Don't be crazy about amassing material things. Remember: You don't know when your number is up, and you can't take it with you to the next place..

* Hospitals must be designed and prepared for major disasters, and they must accept every patient who appears at their doors. We designed St.... Luke's so we can operate anywhere: in the basement, in the corridors, in the chapel. Most people thought I was crazy to prepare
for a catastrophe, but on March 20, 1995, I was unfortunately proven right when members of the Aum Shinrikyu religious cult launched a terrorist attack in the Tokyo subway. We accepted 740 victims and in two hours figured out that it was sarin gas that had hit them. Sadly we lost one person, but we saved 739 lives.

* Science alone can't cure or help people. Science lumps us all together, but illness is individual. Each person is unique, and diseases are connected to their hearts. To know the illness and help
people, we need liberal and visual arts, not just medical ones..

* Life is filled with incidents. On March 31, 1970, when I was 59 years old, I boarded the Yodogo, a flight from Tokyo to Fukuoka. It was a beautiful sunny morning, and as Mount Fuji came into sight, the plane was hijacked by the Japanese Communist League-Red Army Faction. I spent the next four days handcuffed to my seat in 40-degree heat. As a doctor, I looked at it all as an experiment and was amazed at how the body slowed down in a crisis.

* Find a role model and aim to achieve even more than they could ever do. My father went to the United States in 1900 to study at Duke University in North Carolina.. He was a pioneer and one of my heroes. Later I found a few more life guides, and when I am stuck, I ask myself how they would deal with the problem...

* It's wonderful to live long. Until one is 60 years old, it is easy to work for one's family and to chieve one's goals. But in our later years, we should strive to contribute to society. Since the age of 65, I have worked as a volunteer. I still put in 18 hours seven days a week and love every minute of it..

Miss India 2009- Rags to Riches

Neera Chopra lived through abuse, poverty and some tough choices to make her
once-unwanted girl child, Pooja Chopra, the Pantaloons Femina Miss India.

I don't know where to begin... they were terrible times. My husband was
well-placed, but the marriage had begun to sink almost as soon as it began.
Like most women do, I tried to work against all the odds .

My in-laws insisted everything would be alright if I had a son. My first
child was a daughter, and that didn't do me any good... but I couldn't walk
out. I had lost my father, my brother was in a not-so-senior position in
Bata. I didn't want to be a burden on my family and continued to live in my
marital home in Kolkata.

I looked after my mother-inlaw, who was suffering from cancer, and while
bathing her, I would tell myself she would bless me and put things right.

I don't know how I tolerated it all. The least a man can do, if he must
philander, is to not flaunt his women in his wife's face. Then began the
manhandling. I still wanted my marriage to survive. I was a pure vegetarian
and learnt to cook non-vegetarian delicacies thinking it would please him.

Then, I was pregnant again. When Pooja was eight months in my womb, my
husband brought a girl to the house and announced he would marry her. I
thought of killing myself. I hung on the slight hope that if the baby was a
boy, my marriage could be saved.

When Pooja was born a girl, for three days, nobody came to the hospital.
There was a squadron leader's wife on the opposite bed, who was kind enough
to give me baby clothes for Pooja to wear. When she was 20 days old, I had
to make a choice. I left the house with my girls ' Pooja and Shubra, who was
seven then. I haven't seen my husband since. I promised myself, even if we
had just one roti, we would share it, but together.

I began life in Mumbai with the support of my mother, brother, who was by
then married. It wasn't the ideal situation, especially when he had children
' space, money, everything was short. I began work at the Taj Colaba and got
my own place. How did I manage' Truth be told, I would put a chatai on the
floor, leave two glasses of milk and some food, and bolt the door from
outside before going to work. I would leave the key with the neighbours and
tell the kids to shout out to them when it was time to leave for school.

Their tiny hands would do homework on their own, feed themselves on days
that I worked late. My elder daughter Shubhra would make Pooja do her
corrections... This is how they grew up. At a birthday party, Pooja would
not eat her piece of cake, but pack it and bring it home to share with her
sister. When Shubhra started working, she would skip lunch and pack a
chicken sandwich that she would slip in her sister's lunchbox the next day.

I used to pray, 'God, punish me for my karma, but not my innocent little
kids. Please let me provide them the basics.' I used to struggle for shoes,
socks, uniforms. I was living in Bangur Nagar, Goregaon. Pooja would walk
four bus stops down to the St Thomas
Academy. Then, too little to cross the road, she would ask a passerby to
help her. I had to save the bus money to be able to put some milk in their
bodies.

Life began to change when I got a job for Rs 6,000 at the then Goa Penta. Mr
Chhabra, the owner, and his wife, were kind enough to provide a loan for me.
I sent my daughters to my sister's house in Pune, with my mother as support.
I spent four years working in Goa while I saved to buy a small one-bedroom
house in Pune (where the family still lives). I would work 16-18 hours a
day, not even taking weekly offs to accumulate leave and visit my daughters
three or four times a year.

Once I bought my house and found a job in Pune, life began to settle. I
worked in Hotel Blue Diamond for a year and then finally joined Mainland
China ' which changed my life. The consideration of the team and management
brought me the stability to bring them up, despite late hours and the
travelling a hotelier must do.

Shubhra got a job in Hotel Blue Diamond, being the youngest employee there
while still in college, and managed to finish her Masters in commerce and
her BBM. Today, she is married to a sweet Catholic boy who is in the
Merchant Navy and has a sweet daughter.

I continue to finish my day job and come home and take tuitions, as I have
done for all these years. I also do all my household chores myself.

Through the years, Shubhra has been my anchor and Pooja, the rock. Pooja's
tiny hands have wiped away my tears when I broke down. She has stood up for
me, when I couldn't speak for myself. Academically brilliant, she
participated in all extra-curricular activities. When she needed high heels
to model in, she did odd shows and bought them for herself.

When I saw Pooja give her speech on TV, I knew it came from her heart. I
could see the twinkle in her eye. And I thought to myself as she won 'My
God, this is my little girl.' God was trying to tell me something.

Today, I've no regrets. I believe every cloud has a silver lining. As a
mother, I've done nothing great.

'I won due to my mother's karma'

Pantaloons Femina Miss India Pooja Chopra's mother promised 'One day, this
girl will make me proud'. Pooja speaks on fulfilling that promise... When
I was 20 days old, my mother was asked to make a choice. It was either me '
a girl child, or her husband. She chose me. As she walked out she turned
around and told her husband, 'One day, this girl will make me proud'. That
day has come. Her husband went on to marry a woman who gave him two sons.
Today, as I stand here a Miss India, I don't even know if my father knows
that it is me, his daughter, who has set out to conquer the world, a crown
on my head. Our lives have not been easy, least so for my mother.
Financially, emotionally, she struggled to stay afloat, to keep her job and
yet allow us to be the best that we could be. I was given only one condition
when I started modelling ' my grades wouldn't drop.

All the girls in the pageant worked hard, but my edge was my mother's sacrifice, her karma. Today, when people call to congratulate me, it's not me they pay tribute to, but to her life and her struggle. She's the true Woman of Substance. She is my light, my mentor, my driving force. My win was merely God's way of compensating her.

How to be Positive...

Think Positive!!
This is nice - finding positive out of every negative - which we don't always manage to do.

I am thankful...

1. For the husband who snores all night, because he is at home asleep with me and not with someone else.

2. For my teenage daughter who is complaining about doing dishes, because that means she is at home & not on the streets.

3. For the taxes that I pay because it means that I am employed.

4. For the mess to clean after a party because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.

5. For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.

6. For my shadow that watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.

7. For a floor that needs mopping, and windows that need cleaning because it means I have a home.

8. For all the complaining I hear about the government because it means that we have freedom of speech.

9. For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.

10. For the noise I have to bear from my neighbours because it means that I can hear.

11. For the pile of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.

12. For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been capable of working hard.

13. For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I am still alive.

AND FINALLY ....... for received e-mails because it means I have friends who are thinking of me, at least.

Life is Small, Don’t delay…

I love reading this, and hope everyone would love it and will get inspired to open his/her heart…

It's another morning.. .. ... Again I have to go to office.

Ohh, this is me. I shouted having a glance on my snap in today's news paper. But what the HELL it is doing in the death column?? “ Strange.”

One sec... Let me think, last night when I was going to bed I had a severepain in my chest, but I don't remember anything after that, I think I had asound sleep.

Its morning now, ohh... It's already 10:00 AM, where is my coffee? I will be late for office and my boss will get a chance to irritate me. Where is everyone.??? I screamed. "I think there is a crowed outside my room, let me check." I said to myself.

So many people... Not all of them crying. But why some of them crying. WHAT IS THIS??? I m laying there on the floor. "I AM HERE" . I shouted!!! No one listen. "LOOK I AM NOT DEAD" . I screamed once again!!! No one is interested in me. They all were looking me on the bed. I went back to my bed room. "Am I dead??" I asked myself. Where is my wife, my children, my mom-DAD, my friends?

I found them in the next room, all of them were crying. still trying to console each other.

My wife was crying. she was really looking sad. My little kid was not sure what happened, but he was crying just coz his mom was sad. How can I go without saying my kid that I really love him, I really do care of him. ?? How can I go without saying my wife that she is really most beautiful and most caring wife in this world..?? How can I go without saying my parents that I m . just because of u ?? How can I go without telling my friends that without them perhaps I have done most of the wrong things in my life, thanks for being there always when I needed them and sorry for not being there when they really need me.. I can see a person standing in the corner and trying to hide his tears.

Ohh. he was once my best friend, but a small misunderstanding made us part, and we both have strong enough ego to keep us disconnect. I want to say , "Dear friend. I just want to say sorry for everything, we r still best friend, please forgive me."

AM I REALLY DEAD??? I just sat down near ME; I was also feeling like crying. "OHH ALMIGHTY!!!! PLEASE JUST GIVE ME FEW MORE DAYS." I just wasn't to make my wife, my parents; my friends realize that how muchI love them. My wife entered in the room, she looks beautiful. "YOU R BEAUTIFUL" I shouted. She didn't hear my words, in fact she never heard these words coz I neversaid this to her.

"GOD!!!!" I screamed. a little more time plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. . I cried. One more chance please. to hug my child, to make my mom smile just once, tofeel my dad proud on me at least for a moment, to say sorry to my friendsfor everything I have not given to them, and thanks for still being in mylife..

Then I looked up and cried!!!! I shouted.. "GOD!!!! ONE MORE CHANCE PLEASE!!!!" "You shouted in your sleep," said my wife as she gently woke me up. "Did youhave a nightmare?" I was sleeping.. Ohh that was just a dream..

My was there. she can hear me. This is the happiest moment of my life. I hugged her and whispered.. "U R THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND CARING WIFE IN THISUNIVERSE.. I REALLY LOVE U DEAR" I can't understand the reason of the smile on her face with some tears inher eyes, still I m happy.. :)

"THANK YOU GOD FOR THIS SECOND? CHANCE."

So ,

Now it's not late..

Forget your egos, past....., and express your love to others.... Be friendly..... keep smiling and be happy for ever. "Don't hold to anger, hurt or pain. They steal your energy and keep you away from love."

Smile of Victory !

Death haunts people and ordinary people waste whole of their life running away from it. Almost all of us are afraid of this inevitable fate but we always try to abscond from it. If someone comes to know that he is nearing death he will give up all his efforts and will surrender to it, but there are some true soldiers who have the courage to defeat the inevitable. They never surrender to their fate but accept it with smile. The death can not harm their spirit and they know how to enjoy the very last moments. They are the true Winners and inspiration of life. Here follows a small story of a women who didn't gave up to the pain of death and infact made it to see that it is not the supreme. This story also shows true love and the happiness one gets even in the dark times of life. A true lover can bring smile on the face even at the time of great pain..

The girl in the picture is Katie Kirkpatrick, she is 21 . Next to her, her fiancé, Nick, 23. The picture was taken shortly before their wedding ceremony, held on January 11, 2005 in the US . Katie had terminal cancer and spend hours a day receiving medication. In the picture, Nick is waiting for her on one of the many sessions of chemo to end.

In spite of all the pain, organ failures, and morphine shots, Katie is going along with her wedding and took care of every detail. The dress had to be adjusted a few times due to her constant weight loss.

An unusual accessory at the party was the oxygen tube that katie used throughout the ceremony and reception as well. The other couple in the picture are Nick's parents. Excited to see their son marrying his high school sweetheart.

Katie died five days after her wedding day.

Watching a woman so ill and weak getting married and with a smile on her face makes us think..... Happiness is reachable, no matter how long it lasts .

We should stop making our lives complicated.

Life is short,Break the rules
forgive quickly .
kiss passionately, love truly
laugh constantly
And never stop smiling
no matter how strange life is
Life is not always the party we expected to be
but as long as we are here, we should smile and be
grateful.

Moral Policing ? Stop It Right Now !

It is like outburst of plague. It needs to be cured right now or the consequences may be very dangerous. It is spreading like a communicable disease and there is danger that it will engulf whole country if not treated fast. After Manglore now it has reached Banglore. The guts of the moral policeman have reached such heights that they are not sparing even a journalist. On Saturday it was the turn of a lady journalist to taste the bitterness. Some people molested her.

Now something tough needs to be done. Recently senior BJP leader LK Advani also condemned such attacks on women. This is good sign as some sections of BJP are seen as supporter of such moral policing and such disapproval of their act will really discourage them. It’s not enough, some major steps are required to be taken to protect women and we people can force the administration to work towards it.

If these moral policemen are not discouraged than they will increase in number and spread this virus. After all such goons are not interested in welfare of our culture or country but they are interested only in molesting women. They enjoy harassing women and love it because it gives them feeling that women are still weak and they can use them as they wish. Forget it.

These are the persons who want advance women in their lives but are never able reach them so what to do? Just start molesting them to satisfy your frustration.

They need to be told that if they think themselves as supporter of traditions and Indian culture they should try it at their Home and on themselves also. They should teach their family members how to follow culture and they should use force only on their family members if they go wrong. Control yourself and whole the world will change because no one is authorized to tell others what to do.

" If others are going to hell let them go, you only manage your heaven. It will be best service you can give to this society. "

Doctors or Murderers!

GOD became the Killer !

Once again the common sin of Life ,the Greed has crossed all the limits of the brutality . Now the GOD became the Killer. Its disgusting to know that the Life savers who are supposed to grant life to the dying persons ( acting as second GOD ) are now engaged in killing the innocent people. And that too only for some money. Shame on them, they have defamed the whole community. Now how will people believe the Doctors ?

The syringe racket busted in Gujrat was operational with the support of Doctors. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has sealed 15 clinics of private doctors and recovered over 10,000 kg’s of used syringe. Ten thousand Kg of Syringe ? What a huge quantity. It seems that these shameless doctors were preparing for a huge massacre. Fifteen doctors have been booked under various provisions of Indian Penal Code by Ahmedabad city police regarding this matter.

This racket caused death of more than 48 innocent people by the outbreak of Hepatitis-B in the Sabarkantha district of Gujrat. The users are also at the risk to be infected with the HIV. This all was done with the support of the doctors who used to deliver used syringes to the Dealer. The syringes which are meant to be destroyed after single use were cleaned and supplied back to the market.

This whole matter is horrible and the persons responsible for it should be severely punished. It is also the duty of the Doctor community to expose such killers and initiate a clean up to remove such kind of people from this noble profession.

She is a winner ....

.
.
.

" A great inspiration "

She is Jessica Cox, 25, a girl born without arms.

Jessica Cox of Tucson was born without arms, but that has only stopped her from doing one thing: using the word "can't."

This girl from Tucson, Arizona has got the Sport Pilot certificate and became the first pilot licensed to fly using only her feet.

Her latest flight into the seemingly impossible is becoming the first pilot licensed to fly using only her feet.

With one foot manning the controls and the other delicately guiding the steering column, Cox, 25, soared to achieve a Sport Pilot certificate. Her certificate qualifies her to fly a light-sport aircraft to altitudes of 10,000 feet.

"She's a good pilot. She's rock solid," said Parrish Traweek, 42, the flying instructor at San Manuel's Ray Blair Airport. Parrish Traweek runs PC Aircraft Maintenance and Flight Services and has trained many pilots, some of whom didn't come close to Cox's abilities.

Doctors never learned why she was born without arms, but she figured out early on that she didn't want to use prosthetic devices.

Relations are Delicate, Handle with care….

Relations are very essential part of life. Without healthy relations life cannot survive, a society cannot carry itself and a civilization cannot be formed. Life becomes heaven if nourished with healthy relationship and the same life becomes a hell if feed with bad relationship.

Every relation starts with full energy and enthusiasm and initially everything seems perfect but with the passage of time every relation becomes dry and loose its gentle feeling. At this time relations need some treatment to prevent them from dying away. Every relationship needs to be treated as a kid and needs to be taken care with love and dedication. I got one mail from one of my friend which I think is a good one to save any dying relationship. It emphasizes that all relationships need intimacy and understanding to survive. One thing is to be remembered that if in one’s life relations are healthy and strong the life is heaven but if it does not happens the life is the worst thing to feel and seems like a punishment.

TO ALL MARRIED COUPLES AND SINGLES WHO INTEND TO GET MARRIED

When I got home that night, as my wife served dinner, I held her handand said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and atequietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her knowwhat I was thinking. I want a divorce.

I raised the topic calmly. She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away thechopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew shewanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; I had lost my heartto a lovely girl called Dew. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her! With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, 30% shares of my company and the car. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces.

The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not takeback what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed tobe firmer and clearer now.The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight tosleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventfulday with Dew..When I woke up, she was still there at the table, writing. I just didnot care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal alife as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son has his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage. This was agreeable to me.

But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.She requested that everyday for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was goingcrazy.Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request. I told Dew about my wife's divorce conditions. She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully. My wife and I hadn't had anybody's contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed.

So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom tothe sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce.I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office. Onthe second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest... I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that, i hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair were graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her.

For aminute I wondered what I had done to her.On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger. She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger.. I suddenly realized that she had grown sothin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.Suddenly it hit me; she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart.

Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head. Our son came in atthe moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mum out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of hislife. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from thebedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.But her much lighter weight made me sad.

On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school.I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy. I drove to office... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door.I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...

I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore. She looked at me, astonished. Then touched my forehead. Do you have afever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said, Iwon't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and Ididn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love eachother any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home onour wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death does us apart..

Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and thenslammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away. At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowersfor my wife. The sales girl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote:'I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart'.

The small details of our lives are what really matter in arelationship. It is not the mansion, the car, the property, the bankbalance that matters. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to beyour spouse's friend and do those little things for each other thatbuild intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage life..!
