Flipkart's much hyped and publicized Big Billion day sale on 6th October,2014 was an unprecedented event in the Indian history. This was first time that any sale was held on such huge scale and received tremendous response. Flipkart claimed to sold goods worth $100 million but even then it has less to smile.Due to steep discounts and cost of heavy promotion it is less likely that it will make any significant profit.Moreover,the sale is also under heavy criticism from normal customers to big manufacturers.It was only publicity gimmick and targeted to get as many hits as possible.Although, Flipkart was bidding to get billion customers it was in no mood to serve them all.This is proved by the fact that the products available for sale were too less compared to the expected demand.

Of the 1 billion who visited Flipkart 998.5 Million came back empty handed.This means that only 1 in every 600 buyers was able to get something - Times of India 

Fact is that instead of gaining anything Flipkart has severely damaged its brand value and has lost trust of millions of customers.There are several reports of heavy price manipulations and totally unfair practice and social media was flooded by such claims. Flipkart was accused for exorbitantly increasing the price of the products, putting very less products for actual sale and playing with the customers. The sale was mocked by many names like Flopkart, Loot etc. The customers who were not able to get anything fair were furious but now the customers who managed to get something are also feeling some anxious. They got products but are now facing danger of warranty being void. Companies have threatened not to honor any warranty claims for the products.

Flipkart's sale will not be remembered for any good but for the turbulence it created in the online and offline market.It will be remembered for the severe flak from all sections of the society and its after effects.This sale was criticized for unfair practice,anti-competitive approach,duping the customers and technical glitches.the deals are also It is said that Flipkarts whole intention was to gain traffic   all have came down heavily on Flipkart.

  

This single act of Flipkart is going to "Flip" the Indian online retail market. As the repercussions of this sale the consumer companies have suspended supplies to online retailers, chances are that warranty will not be provided, deep discounts will be available no more and government may tighten its control over the market.

If you are planning to buy something on the great Big Billion Day sale of Flipkart, you STRONGLY need to consider once again. 

This big billion day sale is actually not any sale but well planned and publicized strategy to fool the customers and loot them.

It is very frustrating to find that Prices of all the products have been increased exorbitantly, more than 30 percent.The same products are available on other online sites much lesser than Flipkart's price.

I was wishing to purchase some products and had added them to cart and wishlist for last 15 days.I would have already purchased them but then I came to know about the Big Billion day sale and I postponed my purchase till sale day, hoping for really something BIG.I was of impression that on big sale day I will be able to get the products for some more discount.But here I am, finding myself totally duped in the name of big sale.

Yes BIG has came

Big day has came for me right now.It is not in the form of any big benefit but big SHOCK and SURPRISE.I am still not able to believe how any company can do such fraud openly and keep fooling the customers ? The products I was to purchase have made really big move and their prices are now on the sky.

For instance I was looking for LED TV from Videocon, Model No.-VKC40FH 40 inches; LED from Philips- 40PFL4958 ;a laptop from HP Model no-15-g009AX.

The Videocon TV was available for Rs 27990/- , now it is available for Rs 37040/- . It is more than 30% increase in the previous price.

Also, it was with 3 years warranty plus 1 year additional warranty; now the warranty shown is only 1 year.

Philips TV was available for Rs 39990/- but now it is being sold for Rs 49050/-.

The HP Notebook was available for Rs 27000/- but now Flipkart is asking Rs 33190/- for it.

What to do ?

Do not be overwhelmed by the big advertisements and huge publicity. Do not believe anything like big sale and go blindly for buying the products seeing the heavy discount. Do not fall into the TRAP.

See the offers properly and make sure to compare the products on other sites too before buying anything on the Flipkart.

Save yourself from being fooled, Save your self from being looted. Be wise and also help others to know the truth. Save others too by spreading this information to as many people you can. Even if one person escapes from this trap, this will be good.
