Latest version of Android,5.0 Lollipop comes with full Indian flavor.First,we can boast one more achievement by an Indian as Lollipop is first android version to be fully developed under an Indian,Sundar Pichai. Sundar is Google's senior vice president and took over the Operating System operations last year. Second, Lollipop now comes loaded with many Indian Languages such as Bengali, Kannada, Malyalam, Marathi, Tamil & Telgu.

Android 5.0 is totally different experience and   This is 13th major release of android and one of the biggest updates of the OS. Android 5.0 is totally changed and now sports new improved visual interface which Google is calling as "Material Design" which is more likely 3D design.It operates on several layers with animations, shadows and effects.

The most important feature of Lollipop is that it will run smoothly even on 512MB memory devices.

Main Features of Android 5.0 Lollipop

1. Lollipop is flexible and will work on lot of devices including TVs,cars and watches.
2. Customization will be easy for it. For example, lock screen can be customized for notifications.User can pick which apps or people can generate notification to avoid unnecessary disturbance.
3. Incoming calls, notifications and other messages will not disturb the user as he can turn off notification, choose not to answer the calls and much more directly from the lock screen.
4. Notifications can be assigned priority and the OS will take action according to it.
5. All the devices will be easily synchronized and user will be able to enjoy songs, photos,apps etc. seamlessly among all the android devices.Anything running on one device will be available as it is on the other device.It is being called as "Pick up where you left off".
6. Better battery performance and fast charging.Special feature will increase the battery life up to 90 minutes.
7. It is designed to work even with entry level devices.It will smoothly run even on devices with only 512MB RAM.
8. Better security as OS comes with encryption feature, multiple user profiles with option of Guest user.Interesting feature is to be able to Pin the content. This means that user can pin the content which he wants others to see.The other user will be able to see that content only.
9. Smart Lock feature which allows to unlock the phone with facial expressions,smart watch or car too.
10. Support for 64 bit devices.
11. Android 5.0 is available in 68 languages, 15 are added this time including major Indian Languages.

Lollipop will come first on Nexus devices which were also unveiled along with the announcement of Android 5.0.

1. Nexus 6 - This Phablet phone is made by Motorola and it comes with 6 inch Quad HD display with resolution of 2560 X 1440 which results in ppi of 493. It also has 13 MP front facing and 2 MP rear camera.It is powered by latest Snapdragon 805quad core 2.7Ghz processor and Adreno 420 graphics.Highlight of this phone is that it comes with turbo charge feature which enables the phablet to work for about 6 hours with only 15 minutes charging. 
2. Nexus 9 - This is 9 inch IPS screen tablet made by HTC and is powered by 64 bit dual core Nvidia Tegra K1 processor.It has 8 MP front and 1.6 MP rear camera.It is available in 16GB and 32GB storage.Storage is not expandable.
3. Nexus Player - It is the first device running Android TV and is made by Asus.It is streaming media player for movies,music and videos.It allows user to play android games on the TV and then continue on the phone.Nexus player is Google cast ready so user can cast favorite entertainment from any Chromebook, Android device or iOS phone or tablet to the television.
