May not get warranty
The happiness of successful customers of Flipkart's big billion sale is in danger.They might be celebrating their success but chances are that their smile may fade away.The status of warranty on the products bought from Flipkart is under clouds.
In a very disturbing move,all top consumer goods manufacturers have come down heavily on the Flipkart's sale.Terming Flipkart's move as "Unfair" many of them have suspended supply to it.Going one step further, one of the players has declared that they will not be providing any warranty on the products sold on Flipkart.It said that the goods sold on flipkart are not through the authorized partners and it is just like buying from "GREY" market and no warranty can be provided on grey market products.
It is not the sole case and other players may also do the same. So customers need to check from flipkart about the status of warranty.
The status of warranty for the products sold online in India is under cloud from very long.Previously manufacturers like canon, nikon, lenovo, toshiba and others had issued advisories stating that they will not be providing any warranty for the products sold online.However, with the passage of time the issue was suppressed but recent big billion sale from flipkart has once again brought it into headlines.
Flipkart's recent sale has came under heavy flak from all the sections of market. It is the lobby of retailers that stood up strongly against Flipkart this time.They registered strong protest with the companies as well as Government and the companies under severe pressure from these traditional partners are mulling to take serious actions against Flipkart including legal actions.On the other hand government is also taking these complaints very seriously. Commerce and Industry minister Nirmala Sitharaman has informed that the government will take it seriously.
The sale has left both customers and the companies frustrated.Companies are taking it as threat for their brand value and traditional business model while customers, who were not able to get anything from the sale are also accusing Flipkart of cheating and wrong practices. Media has also questioned the sale.
